Fire Police Ambulance Emergency Nurses Rescue Helicopter
You are our Frontline, Our Emergency Services.
You are the first people we turn to when we need help, when life gets traumatic. You deal with life and death on a daily basis and confront situations many of us will never have to deal with. You carry the stresses of your jobs in your life.
We want to give back to you, Our Frontline.
We are practitioners who have benefited significantly from these complementary practices to improve our own lives (Yoga, Reiki, Healing Touch, Contact C.A.R.E., Acupuncture). We want to share our knowledge and expertise with you to give back to you for the work that you do.
The seed for this campaign stems from the successful implementation of complementary practices in US Hospitals and the US Military to assist patients and combat veterans in dealing with the severe stress and returning to active duty. These practices can be used to decompress after tough situations and to alleviate stress from your job.
For the week of November 11-17, 2019, we have complementary practitioners in Reiki, Healing Touch, Yoga, Contact C.A.R.E (Flinchlock Release) and Acupuncture, who are offering a FREE session to you to experience these benefits. If you are in Our Frontline in the Tauranga / Western BOP District, and the Whangarei District, we would like to see you.

Yoga is an ancient form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. The main components of yoga are postures (a series of movements designed to increase strength and flexibility) and breathing. Yoga helps to create mindfulness and strength within the body to better cope with stress.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
This is a Martial Arts based discipline, created in NGATEA New Zealand. ConTact C.A.R.E recognises that the skeleton defends itself automatically and independently when impacted by surprise. This is called 'SKELETAL SENSORY SHOCK'. Releasing this sensory shock is a hands on practice with gentle guided movements of the body with the client being in a comfortable position (standing, sitting, lying or otherwise).
Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles through your skin at strategic points on your body. A key component of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture is most commonly used to treat pain. Increasingly, it is being used for overall wellness, including stress management.
Healing Touch is a relaxing, nurturing, heart-centered energy therapy that uses gentle touch to clear, balance, restore and support the human energy system. Non-invasive, standardised techniques are used to stimulate the self-healing processes creating a coherent and balanced energy field. Because Healing Touch influences the whole person on multiple levels, virtually everyone can benefit from Healing Touch treatments. It is safe for all ages and may be integrated with standard medical care.
Find Out More about Each of the Disciplines in this Campaign
A simple google search will bring up a multitude of information on each of the disciplines being offered in this campaign. The FAQ's and Info page of this website has a few articles about each discipline. This website is by no means an authority on each discipline. Do undertake your own research and make your own decisions around which avenue to pursue. Often, your 'gut feel' is a good indicator of your preference.
A key point to remember is many of the practitioners in this campaign have used these disciplines to bring health into their own lives, confronting and dealing with challenging health conditions in their own lives. They have benefited from these practices and want to share them with you. No one solution fits everyone, so exploration of avenues helps to find what works for you. This campaign offers the opportunity to explore further health avenues to reduce stress and improve health in your life.
